Sebastian Pucelle's Yin Yoga will be divided into 4 continuous activities:

In Yoga we talk about 3 stages of nature or the 3 gunas.
Rajas (Yang) or a dynamic state,Tamas (Yin) or a passive state and Sattvic or (Tao) the state of balance and clarity. Yoga is about finding balance...

Yang Yoga :
Is associated with movement or Vinyasa which require muscle contraction,building physical strenght and stamina,it also fortify weak articulation.The faster pace help the practitioner to detoxified and improve the flow of Prana throughout the body.

Yin Yoga:
In the opposite emphazise maximum decontraction,the different joints in the body are targeted, holding the posture for longer time in a relaxed manner allowing the practitioner to lenghten the connective tissues around the joint in order to create more space.The slow pace allow the practitioner to direct the prana toward different part of the body,and practice breath integration.

Theory :
• Learning about Yin&Yang concept
(Coexistence and interconnectedness…)
• Understanding Yin-Yoga Vs Yang-Yoga
(Differences between those 2 practices)
• Exploring the 3 main tissues for Yoga practice
(Bones, Muscle and connective Tissues)
• Discovering Tension Vs Compression
(The limitation of every Asanas)

Practice :
• Looking at the 20 mains Yin Yoga poses with variation
• 2 Yin-Yoga Session including Pranayama & Meditation
• 2 Yin-Yang Vinyasa Flow Session including Pranayama & guided Shavasana

Day 1 : Morning Session “Opening Prana Flow”
Afternoon Session “Finding Stillness”
Day 2 : Morning Session “The Quiet Practice”
Afternoon Session “From Strength to Softness”

The workshops are designed to benefit beginners and advanced practitioners alike.


>> The Meridian Series Part I (24 & 25 of March 2012)

In this Workshop we will learn how to heal ourselves with the practice of Yin-Yoga, tapping into the healing life-force of the body called Prana (in India) or Chi (in China), using the energy pathway in the energetic body (Pranayama Kosha) named, Nadis or Meridians.
In this Workshop we will go deeper into the practice of Yin-Yoga to move the Prana in the energetic body removing blockages and stagnation of energy, enhancing the flow of Chi to stimulate the function of the Meridians, main Organs and Chakras, through the practice of the Yin-Yoga Meridian Series.

Theory :
• Introduction to the 5 Elements Theory
(Supportive and controlling cycle)
• Approaching the Meridians System
( Meridians location and relation to the organs)
• Understanding the Flow of Chi
(Chi Movement, and Different type of Chi)

Practice :
• 4 Yin-Yoga Sequences according to the Elements and Meridians.
• Including Pranayama & Guided Shavasana.

Pre requisite: Meridien Series Part I.

>> Yin-Yoga & Meditation (26 & 27 of May 2012)

The practice of YIN-YOGA is naturally evolving toward meditation, as Yogi our effort on the path go toward an understanding of the nature of the mind.

YIN-YOGA spontaneously bring us closer to this understanding, the calmness and relaxed approached allow the practitioner to integrate more easily breath awareness, the Asanas are design mainly to open the lower body which enable oneself to sit for longer time and lessen discomfort. Ready to practice and explore MEDITATION.

Theory :
• Looking at the main sitting Meditation Postures
(Adjustment and relaxation in the posture)
• Learning the relation between Yoga and Meditation
(Why Hatha Yoga is the preparation for meditation ?)
• Studying the 5 Hindrances to Meditation
(The obstacles to Meditation and how to overcome them)
• Exploring the 8 Limbs of Raja-Yoga
(The spiritual path of Yoga)

Practice :
• 4 Yin-Yoga Session including Pranayama & guided Shavasana
• 4 Introduction Meditation Session based on breath awareness & visualization

About Sebastian Pucelle :

Sebastian has been studying yoga internationally; in Europe and Asia since 1995. His personal journey through Yoga started under the guidance of Gingi Lee with Asthanga Yoga at the Sangam Studio (London) and Hatha Yoga at the Sivananda Center ( London), following a 200 hours Teacher training Course (T.T.C) at the Sivananda Ashram in 09/2004 (Austria).
Then studied further in Hatha Yoga with Archaya Venkatesh at the Atma Vikasa School following a 2 months International T.T.C in Mysore 02-03/2007 (India).
Discovering Yin Yoga in 2004 during a workshop in London with Sarah Power, Sebastian undertook a 170 hours T.T.C in Yin Yoga with Victor Chng in 09/2009-04/2011 (Singapore).
Lately completing a 130 hours Yin-Yoga Alliance teacher training with Paul Grilley 02/2011 - 02/2012 (Singapore – Kho Samui).
With extensive training in a broad spectrum of yogic disciplines, Sebastian’s teaching blends both Yin & Yang sequences with guided breath-work and meditation. To create session that ranges from intense and vigorous to relaxing and deeply meditative.
Sebastian’s teaching is enhanced by 8 years experience as a Qualified Shiatsu Practitioner, and 10 years as a Martial art Instructor holding a black Belt 2nd Dan in Taido. Another major influence is until now the study of Buddhism and especially the Practice of Vipassana & Jhanas Meditation.

Sebastian is giving workshop throughout Indonesia and abroad to familiarize people with the practice and teaching of Yin Yoga.
